With over 15 years of experience in 401k, Michael oversees 401k Client Relations at Broadstreet Global Advisors and is the head of Participant Education.
Shoniker is also the Vice President of Business Development for Broadstreet Global Partners. His focus is on the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channel, delivering alternative investment solutions to advisors for their high-net-worth clients via Charles Schwab and other custodial platforms. This private equity fund utilizes multiple investment strategies that capitalize on real estate development, infrastructure projects, and related ventures. Shoniker also has a passion for health and wellness. He owns True REST, a premier float spa in Charlotte. As an entrepreneur, Michael has successfully launched and sold two businesses and started two successful True REST franchise locations in Charlotte, NC, and Fort Mill, SC.
Owner True REST, Philanthropist
Michael Shoniker is the proud owner of two True REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy) locations, which provide a therapeutic experience in a zero-gravity environment. Shoniker opened his first True REST location in Charlotte, NC, in partnership with Doug Centola. The site features six pods, offering 48 available slots daily. The pods are gravity-free environments, and the addition of 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt allows the client to virtually float on 10 inches of water for an hour.
Shoniker has used the success of his True REST businesses to benefit others. The company has donated over 2,500 floats to veterans to assist with PTSD symptoms. For years, he has offered the float experience to veterans for free at each location on a selected day each month. He donated over 500 floats to health professionals and first responders throughout the peak COVID months. This represents over $267,000 worth of floats donated since the company’s launch. The company has also donated over 300 floats to local charities in Charlotte, NC, for various causes, including youth programs, breast cancer awareness organizations, autism organizations, and mental health organizations.

Michael Shoniker launched MTS Consulting Co. in 2023 as an entrepreneurial venture, capitalizing on his finance and economics education. As president of MTS Consulting, he aims to use his skills to help small businesses save money by outsourcing business processes, specifically relating to payroll, HR, and benefits.
Sales and Investment Expert
Prior to launching his Business Consulting and Float Therapy operations, Shoniker was a Regional Retirement Plan Sales Representative for Paychex Inc. This large firm specializes in human capital management (HCM) by providing payroll, human resources, benefits, and insurance services to corporations. Michael’s role included consulting with small to medium-sized businesses on employee benefits such as retirement options and explaining their pre-tax benefits.
By leveraging internal and external professional partnerships, he became notable for generating new 401(k) business and 401(k) conversions for Paychex. In his first year, he achieved national Rookie of the Year, was #1 in a zone of 40 sales reps, and #8 overall in the United States out of over 450 reps. His accolades as a sales representative are impressive and include 10-time Conference/President’s Club Qualifier, 6-time Circle of Excellence Qualifier, and multiple national top 10 fiscal year awards.
Family, Hobbies, and Passions
Michael is married to Taylor Shoniker and is the proud father of their son, Michael “Mikey” Shoniker. He finds his greatest fulfillment in life by spending time with his family. Shoniker is also passionate about health, wellness, fitness, and longevity. In his spare time, Michael loves reading and regularly listens to his favorite sports and business podcasts. He is a diehard Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen fan and enjoys golfing and traveling.
Early Education
Michael Shoniker attended the State University of New York at Fredonia. He was a voracious learner, studying business, finance, and economics while maintaining a 3.5 GPA. As an active member of both the Business Club and Economics Club, Michael was determined to pursue a career that would provide both personal fulfillment and financial self-sufficiency.
Shoniker joined the Financial Management Association and the American Marketing Association and was selected into the prestigious Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society. Michael graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, focusing on Finance and Economics.
